Nital Etching 5% – KP-ETCH501 is a high-performance metallographic etching solution based on 5% nitric acid (HNO₃) in alcohol, formulated for the chemical attack of carbon steel, stainless steel, and ferrous alloys to reveal their microstructure for microscopic examination. Compatible with ASTM E407.

Instructions
- Polish the metal surface to a mirror finish.
- Clean with ethanol or acetone.
- Immerse or swab with Nital 5% for a few seconds to 1 minute.
- Rinse immediately with alcohol.
- Dry with compressed air and examine under metallographic microscope.
